Subject: JICA is collecting donation for Japan

Hi Samad

We’ve started a collection which will be channel to JICA HQ and then disbursed through the local governments, Red Crescent in Japan orJapanNGO center for International Cooperation(JANIC) to help Japan in this critical time.

The fate of many thousands of lives is still unknown as the effected areas are still not accessible as the disaster has crippled the transportation infrastructure system. Freezing weather conditions may compound the suffering of the victims if help and necessities is further delay.

Currently, Japan side is trying their best to limit the use of electricity and email to conserve energy. The survivors are spending nights in pitch darkness without heating as power supplies and telephone lines were cut off. The plight of those who suffered are indescribable but their spirit of patience, unity and humbleness amazes me!

If anyone of you keen to contribute, please send in donation (minimum RM20) to me before the 25th March 2011.

Best Regards

Shirley
