[A week before homestay - taken (without permission) from http://www.afflatusblog.com/ who was one of myJICA host family for the homestay program]

Next weekend, my new daughter spends time with us at our home.

Akina is the same age as Nugget. Akina is also in university like Nugget. So Nugget now has a new sister, and Becks is excited, too, to be adik (younger brother) to Akina. Princess will be away next weekend but Akina will get to know the whole family, anyway. Including TJ, our cat.

Before Akina’s arrival, we are already emailing each other. But when I asked Nugget what she wrote to Akina, Nugget said, “None of your business, Papa. Girls’ talk.” Mama is making Akina a new dress — baju kurung, the national dress. Everyone is looking forward to the weekend!

My nephew, Din (who studied in Japan) will come on the first night with his wife, Ann and daughter, Uni. Din will be making Akina comfortable using Japanese words as my family knows only three words of Japanese! But Akina’s English is good, anyway, from how she wrote in her emails.

We don’t have a set itinerary for the weekend. Whatever the itinerary, it will surely be fun, loving and great!
